Lend a Hand Story: FDSA Supports Sheriffs Deputies in Leon County Following Tornado Damage
In May 2024, Leon County and the surrounding areas suffered extensive damage from multiple tornadoes. Several Leon County Sheriffs Deputies were displaced from their homes following catastrophic damage and needed to find alternative shelter while still serving residents in the community. FDSA Executive Director Keith Dean presented an initial donation to Leon County Sheriff Walt McNeil to support these deputies and their families.

It was also the year that the Florida Deputy Sheriffs Association was launched with the goal of providing needed services to the brave men and women who serve their communities through our 67 sheriffs’ offices.
