Board President
Sheriff Peyton Grinnell, a decorated combat Marine Corps veteran, has served with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office since 1994 in a variety of assignments, including Criminal Investigations, Uniform Patrol, Organized Crime and Intelligence, Training and Community Services. He holds a bachelor’s degree in organizational management, a master’s degree in criminal justice administration, and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, the Southern Police Institute and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Chief Executive Seminar.
Sheriff Grinnell serves as the 2026-27 president of the Florida Deputy Sheriffs Association and is active in numerous professional and community organizations throughout Florida, including the Educational Foundation of Lake County and the Salvation Army.
