Board President
Sheriff Gator DeLoach, a lifelong resident of Putnam County, began his career with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office in 2001 as a patrol deputy and went on to serve as a youth resource deputy, K-9 handler and detective. He advanced through the ranks as sergeant, lieutenant and captain before being sworn in as sheriff in 2017. He is a graduate of the St. Johns River Community College Law Enforcement Academy and the FBI National Academy, Class 274.
Sheriff DeLoach is the 2025-26 president of the Florida Deputy Sheriffs Association and is active in several professional and community organizations, including the Florida Sheriffs Association, Palatka Rotary Club and Florida Cattleman’s Association.
